XSeal can slow down the relentless destruction by the elements. X-Seal employs the latest technology which uses acrylic impregnation sealants that draw deep into the material and cure to a solid mass in any cavity they penetrate.
Acrylic-120C solvent-less sealant in a class of its own when compared to traditional proprietary sealants that are generally based on co-polymer technology that requires a high level of dilution, in some cases as much as 90%, to provide penetration into the substrate. This means that life expectancy is potentially short due to inadequate filling of voids.
Acrylic-120C is a genuine impregnation sealant in the true sense of the word. Specifically designed to last a lifetime within the substrate of a structure, hidden away from solar radiation, it provides weather protection within 30 minutes of application. Being anaerobic, the sealant cures within the substrate not on the surface.
Acrylic-120C also provides bonding of fractured and friable structures as well as having excellent void filling capability that would otherwise become filled with water and freeze within building structures during the winter months, adding to the spiral of structural damage.

What Happens Beneath The Surface?
Buildings and structures develop cracks and cavities that fill with rain water, expand and destroy the structure they are in. Even metal castings are not as solid as we think. They can suffer cracks and microscopic holes (porosity), and leak air or liquid through their body causing engine failure. Metal structures are at risk of deterioration.
Statues become faceless due to the effects of solar radiation, rain, wind and pollution. Historic buildings such as churches and stonework suffer from public erosion...the list goes on.
XSeal Sets Deep Within to Give a Strong Bond
XSeal is a smart adhesive that acts rather like water. It seeks out cracks and fills spaces, then sets deep within the material to give a strong bond. It also seals porous areas permanently, driving out moisture and ensuring that it doesn't return.

Physical Properties of X-Seal
X-Seal is available in two formats: a two pack liquid solution for mixing (X-Seal Acrylic-120C) and a pre-mixed solution for thermal cure (X-Seal Acrylic-120T). It's very safe to use, because X-Seal is:
solvent-free
low odour
tough when cured, but remains bendy (like a clear plastic)
able to withstand temperatures up to 200°C once treated
highly resistant to corrosive chemicals such as solvents and acids
What Is Impregnation?
According to the English dictionary it is something that saturates.
For the purposes of clarification let us start with something that does not do impregnation; paint - a synthetic resin layer placed on an object to protect the subsurface from environmental decomposition. Coatings, at best are sacrificial elements that protect the substrate and as we all know need to be regularly replaced. A typical coating contains resins and driers that require air for them to cure. They also contain a lot of solvent to make them liquid enough to paint and large quantities of inorganic filler to provide some protection against solar radiation.
So what is the difference between coating and impregnation?
For instance for impregnation, the sealant is required to cure in the absence of air. It is expected to be thin and free flowing with no solvents.
The best example of an impregnant is Loctite® Thread Locking Fluid, introduced to the market in the mid 1960s. This was an acrylic monomer based product being anaerobic (curable in the absence of air). The cure mechanism was what is called the Redox process, where an organic catalyst within the formulation reacts with metal salts to cause curing of the monomer. In the case of thread locking, it was of course the steel bolt itself that became part of the reaction process. This was the ideal impregnation sealant and the first of its type. Today it is commonplace. Acrylic-120C takes over this mantle with an impregnation sealant that is able to cure within most substrates whatever the structural make-up.
What X-Seal has done is to combine the Redox process within its formulation so that it has all the benefits produced with the thread locking formulation; rapid penetration and curing, excellent cured stability, chemical, temperature and pressure resistance, tough, flexible with long term resilient to environmental impact.
To achieve this, the product is a two pack which is mixed together at the point of application. X-Seal Acrylic-120C is an impregnation sealant in the true sense of the word without suffering the shortcomings of surface coating as will be described further within this web site.
There is another type of impregnation agent which by definition is not a sealant but a silane. This is used in the protection of concrete motorway bridges. It achieves this by coating the voids within the substrate, thus making them resilient to capillary attraction by water. Their downside is that they are unable to protect against a head of water and that they have to be reapplied periodically.
