X-Seal Acrylic 120C
- Viscosity similar to kerosine
- Can be sprayed, poured or injected
- Penetrates to fill any spaces within the structure
- Cures in a few minutes
- Seals, waterproofs and consolidates
- Prevents water ingress, erosion and corrosion
- Unaffected by sunlight - long term durability.
Using X-Seal Acrylic-120C
X-Seal Acrylic-120C cures at ambient temperature within a few minutes of mixing with the supplied catalyst. To give it time to penetrate into the host before curing, it is important to apply it within two or three minutes of mixing.
There are three suggested approaches, depending on the scale of the job.
Applying Acrylic-120C to Medium-Sized Structures
Using the air-powered spray gun, it takes less than one minute to apply a litre of Acrylic-120C.
Mixing and Applying X-Seal Acrylic-120C
A full bottle of catalyst is used with a full can of impregnant. Simply pour it in, attach the spraygun, shake and spray.
The spraygun requires an air supply at 2 bar pressure and a flow of 6 CFM.
Applying X-Seal Acrylic-120C by Spray
1. Pour total contents into sealant.
2. Attach can to spray gun.
3. Shake to mix
4. Apply
Cleaning Up
Rinse all equipment well in cold water before the sealant cures.
Using Acrylic-120C in Small Scale Situations
Where small areas are to be treated, there are three main approaches for applying Acrylic-120C. The hand sprayer is suitable for soaking an area with impregnant, or for smaller areas use a pipette. For fine work, a hypodermic syringe is most suitable.
The hand sprayer is supplied with the X-Seal A-120 Tool Box and is also available separately.
Pipettes, gloves and a syringe are available in a Non-Spray Toolbox.
Mixing Small Quantities of X-Seal Acrylic-120C
There are different ways to mix Acrylic-120, depending on the scale of the job
- Add the bottle of catalyst to the bottle of sealant, attach the trigger spray head, shake and spray straight away. It takes a minute or so to spray it all, leaving a minute or two more longer before the sealant cures.
- Using the graduated measuring cup, add 1ml (30 drops) to each 10ml of sealant. Gel time: 2 to 3 minutes.
- Attach the trigger spray to the impregnant bottle, prime and then use it as a measure. 2 to 3 drops of catalyst for each squirt. Swirl in the measuring cup and apply. Gel time: 3 to 4 minutes.
Applying Small Quantities of X-Seal Acrylic-120C
Once mixed with catalyst, the sealant/impregnant should be applied immediately.
It can be applied by
- spraying from the trigger spray
- injecting from a syringe
- dripping from a pipette
- pouring straight from the mixing cup.
Cleaning Up
Rinse all equipment well in cold water before the sealant cures.
Applying Acrylic-120C to Large Structures
Because X-Seal Acrylic-120 cures rapidly, to give time to cover large areas or surfaces, a specialist sprayhead is used.
This system mixes the impregnant with the catalyst at the sprayhead, making it possible to spray large areas at a time.
The specialist spray head is powered by compressed air and fed from containers of two-pack impregnant.
For this application, a special formulation of Acrylic-120C is used; the impregnant is mixed wth the catalyst in the ratio of 1:1 (instead of 9:1 for other applications).
